A Charming Neighborhood at the Top of Manhattan

Located at the northernmost point of Manhattan, Inwood is likely the most secluded and serene neighborhood in the city. Inwood is surrounded on three sides by water, and zoning laws prevent buildings from being over seven stories tall, so the laid back streets give it a unique small-town ambience—even though the heart of Manhattan is just 20 minutes away.

Take a look at the highlights of life in this charming neighborhood, and find your home in Inwood today.

Living in Inwood

The Neighborhood

The residents of Inwood love the neighborhood because of its tight-knit community, fostered by the wide array of locally owned businesses and scenic parks around the streets. Deemed by the city as "a living piece of old New York," Inwood Hill Park dates all the way back to the glaciers, and is filled with valleys, caves, ledges, and the last remaining salt marsh in Manhattan. Outside of the many parks, you'll also find plenty of local businesses like Guadalupe Bar and Grill, John's Fried Chicken, and Brown Sugar.

The Homes

Since Inwood is restricted to seven-story buildings maximum, you won't find gleaming high-rises with top-floor condos. But that doesn't mean the homes here are anything less than the best. Inwood properties include anything from luxurious apartments with waterfront views to roomy duplexes to beautiful homes with recently remodeled interiors. The neighborhood is also one of the most affordable choices in the city, with prices ranging from under $250,000 to a little over $1,000,000.
