Living in Harlem

The Neighborhood

Around the Harlem neighborhood, you'll find spots that have held a place in the hearts of Harlem residents for years. The Apollo Theater has been around since 1914 and has seen artists like Billie Holiday, James Brown, and Ella Fitzgerald grace its stage. Sylvia's Restaurant has been dishing up Southern comfort food for over fifty years, offering fried chicken, BBQ ribs, and peach cobbler. Of course, newer places have opened in the neighborhood in the last few decades, like Red Rooster and Bill's Place, but each spot is rooted in the past.

The Homes

The Harlem homes that are perhaps the most well-known are the stunning 19th century brownstones that line the streets. You'll also find a few high-rise buildings thrown into the mix more recently, so whether you're in search of a historic Harlem home or a modern apartment a few stories above the hustle and bustle, there are a wide variety of available options. Homes here typically range anywhere from over $4,000,000 to the low $300,000 range, but each offers a premium location in one of the most historically rich neighborhoods in Manhattan.
